Already, there is a lot to be said about the Turkey-Syria earthquake. There will be much more in the weeks and months ahead. Neither the dust will set settle, nor the grief, and anger will go away soon. But one can perhaps wait until the victims of the disaster are laid in their final resting places. All I wish to say for now is that Türkiye is eternally grateful to those rescue workers from abroad who joined the Turkish teams in a heroic effort to deal with the tragic consequences of this catastrophe. And I also would simply draw attention to the glaring contradiction between saving lives in Türkiye and Syria and the year-long bloodshed in Ukraine.

Moving Toward “No Peace No War” in Ukraine

On May 19, in a government statement in the German Bundestag, Chancellor Scholz said, “We all share the same goal: Russia must not win this war. Ukraine must survive.” Putin first has to realize that he cannot break Ukraine’s defense before he would be willing to negotiate seriously about peace, he continued.  “Emmanuel Macron is right to point out that the entry process is not a question of a few months or even years,” the Federal Chancellor added.

“Küresel düzen değişmekte…” cümleciğini duyduğumuzda ilk akla gelen Çin Halk Cumhuriyeti.
Henry Kissinger, 1970’lerin başında, ABD ile Çin arasında diplomatik ilişki kurulmasında önemli rol oynamış bir siyaset adamı ve düşünür olduğu için yazımıza, kendisinin 2011 yılında yayınlanan “Çin Üzerine”(On China) başlıklı kitabından, bu ülkenin zengin tarihi geçmişine vurgu yapan bir alıntı ile başlamakta yarar gördük. Kissinger şöyle demektedir:
“Hiçbir başka ülke, bu kadar sürekli bir uygarlığa ya da kadim tarihi geçmişiyle, stratejinin ve devlet adamlığının klasik ilkeleriyle böylesine yakın bir bağa sahip olamamıştır. Okumaya devam et →
